Board approves variable-term waiver to keep program specialist in administrative role

The governing board approved a certificated variable-term waiver for Erin Murphy so she may continue performing administrative duties while completing the requirements for an administrative credential.
Mister Castellano presented the waiver request and reported that Murphy has performed well in the role and is halfway through her credential coursework; staff said they anticipate she will complete the program in December, at which point the district can apply for her preliminary administrative credential. "She's done an excellent job this year, learning her new roles, supporting the PSS department," Castellano said.
A motion to approve the variable-term waiver passed. Staff said they will apply for Murphy's preliminary administrative credential after she completes her program.
