District discloses tentative CSEA agreement: 1% retro pay increase and one-time bonus; salary schedules updated

District staff disclosed a tentative agreement between Hueneme Elementary School District and the California School Employees Association (CSEA) that the presenter said will raise the 2024'25 salary schedule by 1% retroactive to July 1, 2024, and provide a one-time off-schedule bonus of 2% of the 2024'25 salary schedule or $800, whichever is higher.
Miss Marshall presented the item as an information-only disclosure required under AB 1200, which requires districts that negotiate agreements to publish a financial impact statement and forward it to the county office for review. "We have settled on a 1% increase to the 24'25 salary schedule that will be retroactive to 07/01/2024," she said. "In addition, a one-time off the schedule bonus of 2% of the 24'25 salary schedule or $800 whichever is higher will be paid to the employees."
Separate agenda items presented tentative agreements for board approval pending unit ratification and updated administrative, confidential and certificated salary schedules reflecting the agreed retroactive increase. The board later approved tentative agreements and the updated schedules by motion.
Staff included the approved financial impact statement and the county's letter of review in the board packet, as AB 1200 requires. No dollar totals for the district's liability were read into the record during the meeting; the packet materials contain the financial impact statement and county review letter.
