Board approves Oracle license renewal and committee minutes, recommends water-advisory appointment; recognizes staff software project award

County finance staff described the Oracle renewal as a negotiated three-year licensing arrangement with a net increase of about $1,400 compared with the county’s prior projection; the board approved the renewal unanimously. Commissioners thanked finance and legal staff for negotiating the amendment and minimizing the cost change.
The board then approved a consolidated motion to accept minutes and recommendations from several committees, including the aggregate tax committee, joint ditch meeting minutes, revisers group recommendations, ways and means, personnel committee recommendations and other related items. Commissioners said the committee work had been well vetted.
Separately, the board agreed to recommend Steve Bott (city administrator) to the Metropolitan Water Supply Advisory Committee after outreach to affected cities. Commissioners said the committee seat would mainly affect Otsego, Albertville and St. Michael.
Finally, commissioners recognized county projects staff led by Elizabeth (last name not in the transcript) after they received a NACO award for implementing a centralized software-evaluation model aimed at reducing duplicate contracts and software costs across county departments. Commissioners praised IT and maintenance staff for recent work keeping systems online during a heat-related incident over the weekend.
