A representative of Lebanon Pride asked Lebanon City Council on June 24 to proclaim July 12, 2025 as Lebanon Pride Festival day and invited council members to open the festival and stop by the group’s information booth.
The speaker identified himself to the dais and said he was presenting on behalf of Lebanon Pride. He requested a proclamation and said volunteers would appreciate the mayor or council opening the festival. The speaker offered to leave a written proclamation text with the city clerk.
Mayor Messer acknowledged the request and staff recorded the speaker’s comment in the public-comment portion of the meeting. Council did not take formal action or adopt a proclamation during the meeting; the request was made under recognition of visitors and will require council action to appear on a future agenda if members choose to formalize it.
