SURF fiber work underway; village will publish contact info for residents

Trustee Geiger updated the board June 23 on ongoing fiber and Ethernet installation by SURF, performed under contract with the village’s contractor. Directional boring crews have worked behind properties in Fairway, Miller Orchard East and Prairie Crossing South, and planned next phases include areas north of Miller Street and along Dixie Highway.
Geiger said the contractor is starting the next phase that will include Country Meadow, Orchard, Chestnut Willow and work along Dixie Highway from Chestnut to Church Road, continuing around Dutch American. He told trustees the village will publish a phone number on the website so residents can report issues because crews will be working near or sometimes in private yards.
Public-works staff and trustees encouraged residents to use the published contact if they have questions or concerns while crews are in local neighborhoods.
