Lebanon City Council on June 24 adopted a resolution authorizing the city to enter into a Local Public Agency (LPA) agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to manage a planned widening of State Route 63.
Under the resolution, ODOT will reimburse up to 70% of the construction costs for the project, with a reimbursement cap recorded in the resolution of $5,720,000. The city’s local match was estimated in the council packet at approximately $2,900,000. City staff said construction is not scheduled to begin for the project as described in the resolution.
Council members voted in favor of the resolution on a roll call without recorded opposition. During discussion members asked about the LPA acronym; staff confirmed LPA means Local Public Agency, indicating the city would manage the project while using ODOT funding for reimbursement.
The resolution authorizes the city to manage detailed project work and accept the ODOT funding structure; staff will return with any further project scheduling and procurement steps as the design and funding process advances.
