Kerr County commissioners on Monday approved the surplus and donation of a 1985 Brewhoff water tanker trailer (RBU051) to the Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department, citing the apparatus as surplus Road & Bridge equipment.
Miss Hoffer reported the unit had been surplussed at an earlier session and recommended transferring it to the Mountain Home VFD under Texas Local Government Code sections 352.001 and 352.002, which permit donation of surplus county property to volunteer fire departments that provide fire protection to county residents. The Road & Bridge department suggested the unit would be a useful asset to the volunteer department.
The court approved both the surplus and the transfer; staff said the fire department would be required to sign a transfer/disclaimer and release of liability. Staff also noted the unit’s model year (1985) and approximate capacity; commissioners praised the donation as an asset for the volunteer department.
The donation was authorized unanimously and county staff will finalize transfer paperwork and the vehicle title process.
