Kerr County commissioners on Monday unanimously approved a request from the Upper Turtle Creek Volunteer Fire Department to use a corner of the courthouse parking lot on available Saturdays from July 5 through Nov. 2 to sell raffle tickets for its December fundraising event.
Wes Gordon, representing the volunteer fire department, told the court the group will use the location to sell raffle and bucket‑drawing tickets ahead of a December 20 event that features a 10‑gun raffle and a Kawasaki Mule prize. Gordon said the department planned limited use of the parking lot — the corner only — and would operate daytime hours; commissioners asked whether the entire lot would be used and Gordon confirmed only a corner would be used.
A commissioner moved approval, the motion was seconded, and the vote was unanimous. The county clerk recorded the action and staff will coordinate logistics and site access with the fire department.
