Kerr County commissioners on Monday opened a bid package for an LED highway marquee for the Hill Country Youth Event Center and accepted a single vendor submission offering several size and resolution options.
The county clerk reported one bid from Core Displays LLC. The staff read back four package options included in the submission: a 6‑millimeter ultra‑high‑resolution 6‑by‑12 foot sign priced at $87,440; a 10‑millimeter high‑resolution 6‑by‑12 foot sign at $81,177; a 10‑millimeter high‑resolution 5‑by‑10 foot sign at $61,167; and a 10‑millimeter option sized smaller at $46,272. Staff explained the options differ in pixel resolution, physical dimensions and sign weight.
Commissioners accepted the bid package and appointed a selection review committee for technical evaluation and recommendation. The court appointed Commissioner Harris and Jake Williamson (county staff liaison) to serve on the evaluation committee, with Noel Putnam (grants/administration) identified as an additional reviewer and the court liaison. The committee will assess technical specifications, size, resolution suitability and pricing, and will return a recommendation for award.
No contract award was made at the meeting; the court’s action was to accept the single bid and delegate evaluation to the appointed committee.
