The Homewood City Council on Monday filled five board vacancies with unanimous votes.
Appointments announced during the meeting included Nathan Vickers to the Home and Environmental Commission (Ward 1), Lauren Walton to the Beautification Board (Ward 2), Joe Levins to the Ward 2 Park Board, Mike Higginbotham to the Library Board, and Susan Chalmers to the Abatement Board (Ward 4). Each appointment was moved and seconded on the floor and approved by voice vote, recorded as passing 10–0.
Councilors thanked the applicants for volunteering. President Jones asked the city clerk to notify the appointees of their appointments and to send congratulations.
