Gateway School District board members approved capital work at Ramsey Elementary, awarding $198,750 to Hockenstein Mechanical for upgrades to the kitchen roof exhaust fan and rooftop systems as part of the district's facilities capital program.
The contract was described as part of the district's capital program and procured through CoStar pricing. "Item 8.13 approved kitchen upgrades at Ramsey Elementary, Hockenstein mechanical for MOU upgrades to the roof exhaust fan and rooftop system to the amount of $198,750," a staff presenter said during the meeting.
Why it matters: the upgrades are a capital facilities expense that affects building maintenance and operations; the board approved the contract as a routine facilities item in the consent agenda.
The board approved several other routine vendor renewals and district financial housekeeping items during the same section of the agenda, including insurance renewals, designation of depository banks and continuing investment options, and a natural-gas agreement through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit consortium.
Board members had no substantive objections recorded to the Ramsey Elementary contract during the meeting. Staff noted the contract is part of the capital program budget and that work would proceed under the standard facilities project schedule.
