According to staff, the calendar meets Tennessee Department of Education requirements, uses six stockpile days for professional learning and saves seven stockpile days for inclement weather. The presenter said no substantive changes were made after the district’s prior workshop presentation and recommended approval "as presented." A motion to approve the calendar carried with no opposition.
Board members asked no substantive questions during the vote. Staff confirmed the calendar was intended to improve coordination with the county schedule and to incorporate stakeholder feedback on the school‑year end date.
