Millersville council adopts Freedom Memorial Park master plan

A borough staff member presented the final Freedom Memorial Park master plan and the Millersville Borough Council voted to adopt it after the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) returned no additional comments.
The presenter said the park committee had worked on the plan for more than a year and that DCNR and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) had been recipients of grant applications tied to elements of the plan. "They did not have any additional comments or edits that they would recommend changing in the master plan," the presenter said, and councilors proceeded to vote to adopt the document.
Council members said adoption provides a 10‑ to 15‑year framework for park improvements and will support future grant requests to implement plan elements. A motion to adopt the Freedom Memorial Park master plan was made, seconded and carried by voice vote; no amendments were proposed during the meeting.
