Nantucket Planning Board narrows vision language, agrees to present priorities at July 14 hearing

The Nantucket County Planning Board on Monday reviewed and revised draft language for the town’s master-plan vision and directed consultants to clean up the text for a public hearing on July 14.

Consultants Dylan (Consultant, Barrett Planning Group) and Peter (Consultant, Barrett Planning Group) presented two formatting approaches — a short prose vision and a bulleted set of focus areas. After discussion, board members agreed to move forward with the prose paragraph as the primary vision statement and include the bullets as the plan’s priorities or draft goals for public review.

“the vision is linking between existing conditions analysis and the public input and then moving into an implementation plan,” Dylan said, describing how the prose and bullets would connect to later chapters of the master plan.
