Clearfield City Manager JJ Allen told the council he planned to submit an application for a federal Safe Streets for All grant requesting $21 million to fund pedestrian bridges.
"No later than lunchtime tomorrow, I'll be pressing submit on our Safe Streets for All application where we're we're asking for $21,000,000 for for pedestrian bridges," JJ Allen said during the staff reports portion of the meeting. He asked council members to "cross your fingers" and noted it is a large federal request.
Allen also flagged an upcoming staff email about an urgent issue: arranging water for landscaping at the I-15 interchange. He said the message with details would likely go out the next day so council members would understand the situation and the urgency.
Both items were presented as staff information; no formal action or public hearing on the grant or the interchange landscaping occurred during the meeting.
