Stow City inclusion commission plans parks‑accessibility survey distribution with QR code and paper options

The Stow City Commission on Inclusion agreed to circulate a detailed parks‑accessibility survey using a web link and QR code, with printed copies available at City Hall and the library and a plan to manually enter paper responses into the survey system.

Commission members said the survey lists parks and facilities across the city and includes questions that require more than a simple yes/no answer. Because some community members do not use QR codes or prefer paper, the commission decided to provide printed copies at public locations and to collect completed forms in a designated drop box; volunteers or staff will later enter those responses into the online form so they are included in the dataset. The commission set July 7 as the closing date for the initial survey window.

Commissioners asked staff to confirm that the QR code posters include the full web address as a backup for users who prefer typing the link. Staff agreed to email commissioners the QR code image, the web address and a copy of the full survey so members could print copies for distribution. The commission discussed using library and small‑business locations to widen access and suggested posting the QR code near counters and at outreach pop‑ups.

Members flagged the manual data‑entry burden of paper responses and agreed to distribute that work among commission volunteers and staff. The commission also confirmed it will host survey materials and a Dropbox folder to collect scanned or photographed paper returns for centralized processing.

The commission plans to resume in‑person outreach at community pop‑ups, with the next event scheduled for July 15 at Wetmore Park. Members said they will advertise the survey and provide both QR and paper options at outreach events.
