The Montgomery County Transportation and Environment Committee on June 23 recommended conditionally approving one amendment to the county Comprehensive Water Supply and Sewage Systems Plan to allow a sewer main extension that would serve an unimproved one-acre property on Ridge Drive in the Glen Hills area, and asked county staff to develop qualifying language to allow a neighboring property to receive a conditional approval as well.
Planning and Department of Environmental Protection staff told the committee both requests were transmitted by the county executive on March 19, considered by the Planning Board on May 1, and heard at a council public hearing on May 7. DEP staff said category changes to the water and sewer plan require Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) approval and that only amendments with complications reach the County Council for action.
