Board receives notification of academic standards to be adopted for 2025–26

Executive Director of Instructional Services Kim Edwards presented the district’s annual notification of academic standards for the 2025–26 school year and asked the board to place the item on the July 14 consent agenda for formal approval.
Edwards said the presentation fulfills a statutory requirement that the board include academic standards on the agenda and that the district recommends adoption of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), national health education standards, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework, and the Wisconsin Academic Standards for all other areas.
Edwards told the board this is the same combination of standards used the previous year and that more detailed materials are posted on the district’s curriculum and standards web page. She said the notification is procedural and that the formal approval will be sought on the July 14 consent agenda.
No board questions were raised during the presentation.
