Olson selected as airport engineer; WWII hangar T‑205 brought down after wind damage, debris removal pending

Council approved a professional services master agreement with Olson Inc. on June 23 to provide airport engineering and consulting services at Muskogee Davis Regional Airport. Kelly Bolling, acting airport manager, said the FAA requires the city to select a firm for upcoming capital projects and that the airport selection committee and airport board unanimously chose Olson as the most qualified firm.
“The airport engineer consulting selection committee and the airport board have both unanimously selected Olson as the most qualified firm to represent Muskogee Davis Regional Airport,” Bolling said during council consideration of the master agreement.
Separately, Bolling and emergency management staff briefed council on Hangar T‑205, a World War II‑era hangar that partially collapsed during high winds on June 3. City emergency management director Tyler Evans, public works director Mike Stewart, the city manager and other staff declared an emergency; the insurer gave approval to bring the remainder of the building down, and contractors took the structure down on June 8 to prevent further debris from threatening the taxiway and runway.
Staff said they are gathering quotes to haul debris and are awaiting further guidance from the insurance company before debris removal and final site restoration. Council took no separate vote on the demolition update beyond receiving the report; it approved the Olson master agreement by roll call.
