Board approves developer-funded relocation and vacation of Maple Run Section 7 drain arm

The Hamilton County Board of Drainage voted June 30 to approve a petition by Arbor Homes to vacate and relocate a portion of the Aaron Rawlings arm of the Thistletoe drain to permit site improvements for a residential development in Maple Run Section 7.
County staff presented a petition and plans showing the project on the north side of East 220 Sixth Street between West Road and Mule Barn Road and said the reconstruction will occur within platted, regulated drain easements recorded on the Maple Run Section 7 secondary plat. Staff said the relocation will remove 968 feet from the overall length of the Aaron Rawlings arm.
Staff told the board the relocation will be paid for by the developer and that a small portion of the relocation lies within public right-of-way while the majority is on platted subdivision property. The board opened the matter for public hearing; no members of the public addressed the board during the hearing.
After brief discussion the board approved the petition by voice vote. The board clerk confirmed the motion covered both the relocation and vacation requested in the packet.
