Mayor McCann told the council on June 24 that Bud Williams, who had served on the city’s revolving loan board, moved out of the city and that she planned to appoint Tom Keim to fill the vacancy.
“I'd like to appoint Tom Keim, former Defiance County Commissioner Tom Keim, who now lives out in Houghton, in addition, to that position,” Mayor McCann said.
Council gave consent to the mayor’s appointment by voice vote when asked, with members responding “aye” and the president announcing approval. No roll-call vote was recorded on the appointment during the meeting.
No other nominations or objections were recorded on the public record; the mayor congratulated Keim after the vote.
