"This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the line of duty death of my great grandfather, chief Tom Ellis White, who was tragically killed on 07/08/1975 while serving the community of Wolf City and Hunt County," Trina said during public remarks. County Judge Stovall read the proclamation into the record before the court voted.
The proclamation’s text cites White’s service and sacrifice and expresses the county’s gratitude for peace officers who have died in the line of duty. The motion to approve carried by voice vote; the court took a group photo with the family after the vote.
The court took no related budgetary or policy action beyond issuing the proclamation.
