An IT staff member said the Tyler Munis vendor offers a cloud-based module that supports vendor self-service attachments but the county’s full ERP remains on premise. The committee discussed whether to adopt a single cloud component now or wait until a future full ERP upgrade to migrate more comprehensively.
Staff also raised fraud and security concerns tied to the current practice of receiving invoices by email or postal mail. “There’s been concerns and issues with fraudulent invoices coming through the county,” the staff member said, and noted portal-based receipt would permit virus and malware scanning on attachments and formalize invoice intake procedures.
The committee did not vote on a switch to the cloud module; staff said they will investigate other solutions — including low-cost options — and consider whether to include the module as part of a larger ERP upgrade in coming years.
