Trophy Club proclaims July Parks and Recreation Month; department outlines summer events and facilities update

The Town Council on June 23 proclaimed July 2025 as Parks and Recreation Month and heard a presentation from parks staff about scheduled events and department initiatives.
Madison Sile, Recreation Superintendent, and staff described a series of July activities tied to the National Recreation and Park Association theme “Build Together, Play Together.” Planned events listed in the agenda include a family day out at Harmony Park on July 12, Coffee in the Park on July 15, a birdhouse-building activity and Popsicles on July 30. The parks staff said passive and active events are planned across multiple town parks and that some events will provide supplies “while supplies last.”
Staff also briefed council on construction progress for the town’s new courts and recreation amenities. Town staff said work is underway on foundations, retaining walls, fencing, drainage, electrical and irrigation for the pickleball, bocce and basketball components, and that the project is scheduled to be completed around mid to late September. The presentation encouraged residents to use parks and participate in volunteer efforts such as the annual Stars and Stripes flag program; staff said volunteers currently cover about 90% of flag routes and will need more help for 2026 replenishment planning.
Council members and park-board representatives attended the presentation and encouraged public participation in the events and volunteer programs.
