University Place council member Frank Boykin says housing is his top priority

Frank Boykin, a council member for the City of University Place, told meeting attendees that housing is the issue he is most passionate about and a central reason he sought public office. “People need to have the security of what housing can offer,” Boykin said during his remarks.

Boykin said his path to elected office began after community members encouraged him to serve on the planning commission, where he completed three consecutive terms and learned city processes. He credited community leaders Harvey and Jean Brooks with inspiring him to run for council and cited his father, Frank Edward Boykin Sr., as a personal model of service.
