Residents urge Trophy Club council member Stacy Bauer to resign after felony indictment

Two Trophy Club residents urged the Town Council on June 23 to seek the resignation of council member Stacy Bauer after a recent felony indictment.
Danny Mayer, a Trophy Club resident, read portions of the indictment into the record and said the allegations have “compromised the public’s trust.” Mayer said the indictment alleges theft occurring from Jan. 1, 2021, through April 3, 2023, involving property valued between $30,000 and $150,000, and listed items including U.S. currency, equipment, cash boxes, marketing materials and electronics intended for a youth organization.
“Having a sitting council member under felony indictment undermines this image and raises concerns about the integrity of our local government,” Mayer said, urging Bauer to resign and asking the council to add a vote of confidence or no-confidence to the next agenda if she does not.
Jared King, another resident who spoke during public comment, echoed Mayer’s request and said Bauer initially described the matter as a “misunderstanding” when she first appeared on the ballot unopposed, but that the new criminal charges make the situation “very serious.” King requested the council place a formal vote of no confidence on a future agenda if Bauer remains in office.
Council did not take immediate action during the meeting. The speakers’ request was delivered as public comment; state law limits how council members may respond during that portion of the agenda.
