The School Committee approved an employment agreement June 18 to appoint Dr. Costa as the East Bridgewater school physician effective July 1.
Superintendent staff said the contract’s indemnification language was revised at the physician’s request: a clause referring to the physician’s "acts, errors or omissions" was replaced with the term "negligence" to align with Dr. Costa’s malpractice insurance wording. The revised agreement was reviewed by town counsel (Nick Dominello's office was consulted) and signed by both the district and Dr. Costa; Mr. Peake signed the district agreement earlier in the process, and Dr. Costa executed the contract afterward.
Committee members confirmed Dr. Costa will provide in-person services at district schools and that his first assigned duty will be athletic physicals beginning July 1. The committee approved the employment agreement by voice vote.
