The El Campo City Council voted to reject a lone bid received for professional audit services and directed staff to reissue the solicitation with a longer response window.
Staff told the council they received one bid from KMNL and that receiving only a single proposal raises competitiveness concerns. Staff recommended rejecting the bid and rebidding with a longer advertisement period (about six weeks rather than three), and said the recommendation had no reflection on KMNL and the city hoped the firm would rebid.
Council approved the staff recommendation by motion and voice vote and staff said it would rebid and return with results in July.
