Council renews juvenile probation grant and approves CASA wellness appropriation

The Delaware County Council approved a $100,000 renewal of a juvenile grant (JCC juvenile grant) that funds a probation officer position, benefits and $20,000 for professional services supporting electronic monitoring.
Court Administrator Emily Anderson said the grant is a renewal and is recorded to a different fund number for administrative reasons. She explained the $20,000 professional-services portion covers juveniles on electronic monitoring.
Separately, council approved a $1,238 appropriation to cover health insurance for a CASA-funded employee. Anderson said CASA’s director had appropriated funds at budget time to cover VOCA grant obligations but needed the additional $1,238 for health insurance to carry the position through year end. The CASA director has indicated that the VOCA grant continues through 2026, while one smaller capacity-building state grant is ending.
Both funding actions were approved by roll call with unanimous support.
