Commissioners authorize renewal of victim-services grants totaling roughly $97,000

Delaware County Commissioners voted June 16 to authorize the prosecutor's office to apply for renewal of two victim-services grants that fund the county's victim assistance program.
Nicole Ford of the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office said the office is requesting $79,726.50 in federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds and $2,106 in state SBAA funds. Ford said the VOCA request includes a local match of $15,945.30 from the commissioners and covers partial compensation for the victims director and three victim advocates.
The prosecutor's office described the grants as covering work to "support our victims of crime as well as uphold the law by statute to provide victims assistance." Ford told commissioners the amounts are the same as past years and that the grant period runs from Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Commissioners voted to authorize submitting the grant applications (resolution 25-466); the vote was unanimous.
If awarded, grant administration and any required local match will be handled by the prosecutor's office and county finance staff per standard grant procedures.
