The contract is part of a larger renovation funded through a $150,000 1-80 makeover grant for the Eichmann Exchange. Engineering staff said the combined low bids for tuckpointing, window replacement and lead abatement total $136,714, leaving roughly $13,286 in contingency under the $150,000 award.
Kevin, speaking for the engineering department, reported the low responsive quotes that form the recommendation: Top Notch Masonry for tuckpointing at $67,914, Wooded/Glass (as quoted) for window replacement at $36,100, and SSI Services LLC for lead abatement at $32,700. The Board accepted the recommendation and moved to authorize the city to enter a contract with SSI Services LLC for the lead abatement work, not to exceed $32,700, subject to legal review and mayoral signature.
A motion to approve the lead-abatement contract was made and seconded; the Board approved the motion by voice vote. The engineering representative said the notice of award has been sent for the window and tuckpointing contracts and that agreements are being executed.
The action keeps the project within the $150,000 1-80 makeover grant award but leaves a modest contingency balance. The Board did not set a project completion date or provide additional budget changes during the meeting.
