County staff and commissioners announced the death of Kathy Peckman during the Miami County Board of Commissioners study session on June 18 and shared visitation and funeral details.
Commissioner Vickrey and county staff recalled Peckman's long service and steady presence in the county office. Laura (county staff) said Peckman served from 1993 until February 2009 and helped modernize office processes, moving operations from paper records to computerized systems. "Without her progression, we wouldn't have those conveniences," Laura said.
Laura said visitation was scheduled for Thursday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Dingle and Son Mortuary and that funeral services were to follow the next morning at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran church where Peckman was a member and choir participant, according to the transcript.
Commissioners offered thanks and brief remarks but did not take any formal action during the study session. The transcript records the announcement and the service details as shared by county staff.
