The measure was presented with no one registered to speak during the public hearing. Councilor Harris moved the ordinance on first reading and the motion passed on a roll call vote. Mayor and councilors scheduled a second reading and consideration of final adoption for the June 17 meeting.
Staff framed the change as an update to align the city’s code with the state model ordinance adopted in 2020. No public testimony was received during the hearing, and councilors did not request additional changes at first reading.
