A staff member identified as Jeff described the proposed installation: four pan‑tilt‑zoom cameras to cover the east, west and south exterior approaches and the third‑floor roof area; three stationary dome cameras for parking‑garage and other coverage; and a viewing station for security staff. Jeff said the cameras would record on‑camera solid‑state storage with approximately 30 days of retention and that the system can be configured for event alerts and department‑level access controls.
Jeff said the upgrades are intended to deter after‑hours trespass and to provide footage for law enforcement when incidents occur on the roof and plaza areas. He also said electrical contractors under the building general contractor will install mounts and run conduit and cable as part of the construction contract so the county’s purchase covers equipment rather than installation labor.
A motion to approve the CDW‑G quote for up to $15,879.35 passed on voice vote; commissioners recorded no roll‑call objections at the meeting. The county will coordinate delivery and installation with the construction schedule and the contractor’s wiring work.
