Commission members plan outreach: block-party tabling, coordinate with Madison HRC and contact LifeSpring

Commission Member 1 said the commission should reach out to community organizations to invite them to attend July meetings and to avoid duplicating efforts with nearby groups. "I did just this couple of notes about reaching out to organizations for July attendance and then following up maybe on some of the stuff from the Madison HRC," Commission Member 1 said.
Commission Member 2 (who attended the Madison HRC meeting) and other members said coordination with Madison HRC could help align efforts. "I wanna know what they're doing, and so we're not overlapping or we can overlap if we need to," Commission Member 3 said, describing the comprehensive plan's call for coordination between entities.
Members discussed tabling at a local Hanover block party to raise awareness of the commission. "I liked the block party's idea. I thought that would be fun...I think that community is really important right now," Commission Member 1 said. Commission Member 1 offered to follow information about the Hanover block party and "start a table there" and requested that task be assigned.
Other outreach items mentioned included contacting LifeSpring to ask whether a representative could attend a future meeting. Commission Member 2 said they had not yet heard back from LifeSpring and planned to follow up.
Because the meeting lacked a quorum, no formal votes or assignments were recorded. Participants treated these items as action items to pursue before the next meeting: following up with LifeSpring, coordinating with Madison HRC, and staffing a table at the Hanover block party if the date permits.
