Board honors Division IV state champion track and field teams from county high school

Supervisor Seymour introduced the athletes on behalf of the Board and praised their work: "On behalf of Navajo County Board of Supervisors, we wanna congratulate you on your great success and your great victory." He noted Chairman Whiting could not attend and then invited athletes to identify events.
Coaching staff and athletes described events including sprints, hurdles, jumps, relays and middle-distance races. Supervisors recounted results the Board had been provided: the boys secured their fifth straight title with 110 points, well ahead of second place with 78; the girls scored a record-setting 173.5 points, more than double the next team, which had 76. Presenters said multiple school records were set and that 12 athletes qualified for a follow-on meet that invites the top 18 athletes from all divisions.
"It takes a lot to win a team sport. It takes a lot to win an individual sport," Supervisor Seymour said. Coaches and student representatives emphasized teamwork, camaraderie and community support.
The Board presented medals to athletes and coaches. Supervisor Siegel invited senior athletes to speak briefly about team culture and work ethic. No formal action was required; the item was ceremonial recognition.
