Board approves Full House Lane culvert project contract to Perkins Cinder Inc.

Navajo County supervisors approved an award of contract B2501002 to Perkins Cinder Inc. for a culvert expansion project on Full House Lane.
Public Works Manager Bruce Flake said the existing culvert has repeatedly backed up and allowed uncontrolled runoff to spread across the roadway. The county designed a culvert-expansion project, sought bids and received a single bid from Perkins Cinder Inc.; Flake told the Board the bid is under the department's budget for the project.
"It's an existing culvert that needs expanded. Many times, the culvert has backed up. It's caused the water to spread out and run uncontrolled over Full House Lane," Flake said.
Supervisors noted staff had worked with residents and nearby schools to secure necessary easements and commended Public Works for advancing a long-standing project.
A motion to approve the contract was made and seconded; the Board approved the award by voice vote.
The approval authorizes staff to execute the contract and proceed with construction subject to any necessary permitting and easements.
