Board awards one-year waste-tire hauling contract to CRM of America LLC

The Navajo County Board of Supervisors approved a contract award to CRM of America LLC for hauling and disposing of waste tires collected at county collection sites.
Public Works Manager Bruce Flake told the Board the county administers the program in partnership with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). The contract has an initial term of one year with options for up to four additional one-year renewals, Flake said, and the county received a single bid for the work.
"This program is in partnership with ADEQ," Flake said. "This contract is for hauling and disposing of waste tires from Navajo County's waste tire collection sites... The contract has an initial term of 1 year and then the option for up to 4 one-year renewals."
Flake said county staff reviewed last year’s volumes and reported that for the year ending June 2024 the county hauled about 1,414.36 tons of tires.
A motion to award the contract was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; no opposition was recorded.
Flake told the Board he had toured the recycling facility and said county residents and local tire businesses use the program. The award authorizes staff to execute contract B2503026 with CRM of America LLC and to proceed under the contract terms.
