During discussion a council member raised concerns about recent sediment and rock tracking from a nearby development onto a new street and noted that a sediment pond was capturing some runoff but that enforcement tools needed strengthening. A staff member acknowledged the issue and said the code change would “give us some better mechanism to be able to…enforce that much better.”
Councilors approved the ordinance by roll-call vote; the bill was recorded as Ordinance 7101. The change is intended to bring the city into compliance with DNR stormwater treatment and handling regulations for developments.
