Vineland council recognizes three longtime city employees on retirement

The Vineland City Council on June 17 adopted resolutions recognizing three city employees who are retiring and, in one case, approving the transfer of a service weapon upon completion of required paperwork.
Resolution 2025-273 recognizes Louis (Lou) Cicchetti, whose city service began in January 1997; the resolution records his retirement effective July 1, 2025 and thanks him for his career in the Department of Public Works. Resolution 2025-274 recognizes Jeffrey Lawrence, whose city service began July 21, 2008; it records his retirement effective June 1, 2025 and thanks him for his service in the Department of Municipal Utilities as principal engineer.
The council also adopted Resolution 2025-275 recognizing Officer Dwight Adams, who began city service in January 2004 and is retiring effective July 1, 2025. The resolution includes a provision approving the transfer of Officer Adams’s service weapon “in recognition of his faithful service” upon submission of all documents required to legally transfer the weapon. Director of Public Safety Adorno Eser addressed the meeting and said Adams was injured and could not attend; he said Adams’s daughter, who works as a dispatcher, attended to accept on his behalf. At the meeting Eser identified himself: “I’m Adorno Eser, the director of public safety.”
All three resolutions were adopted by the council and will be recorded in the minutes; the transfer of the service weapon is contingent on completion of legal transfer paperwork as stated in the resolution.
