The Clean Energy Advisory Committee updated the Green Bay Area Public School District Board of Education June 23 on progress toward district clean energy goals.
A committee member reported that a site visit was held to observe the tail end of geothermal well drilling at Star Elementary and that additional visits are scheduled. The committee also received a grant‑funded net‑zero pathways presentation covering six schools; that presentation aligns in several areas with work McKinstry is carrying out for the district.
McKinstry is finalizing the district’s pathway to clean energy and building a dashboard to show live information for some solar projects. The committee said the dashboard and pathway work will help administrators and the board track projects and energy outcomes. The committee will reconvene in July to review survey results and next steps.
During discussion, a board member asked whether both renovation alternatives had been executed on Doty and Chapel; the committee member said Doty accepted the alternate for a solar array while Chapel had not yet opened for the team to confirm alternatives.
No board action was taken; the report was informational and will feed into future agenda items or project proposals.
