Green Bay Area schools approve $4.7 million in construction and after‑school contracts

The Green Bay Area Public School District Board of Education on June 23 approved a set of construction and service contracts totaling roughly $4.7 million.
The board awarded ACE Building Service the general contractor contract for an auxiliary services building addition and renovation for $3,550,500. Board members noted the contract had been discussed at the district’s prior work session.
The board also approved a contract with Nielsen for bidirectional amplifier improvements at East High School, Franklin Middle School, Lombardi Middle School, Preble High School, Southwest High School, Washington Middle School and West High School for $349,814.43.
For after‑school programming, the board approved a contract with the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay to provide services for two 21st Century Community Learning Centers and/or fund community‑based after‑school programs at Dans and Fort Howard elementaries for $282,860 for the 2025–26 school year. The YMCA of Green Bay was approved to provide services and/or funding for six elementary schools — Baird, Beaumont, Doty, Eisenhower, Howe and Sullivan — for $872,173.22 for the 2025–26 school year.
Board members repeatedly told the audience these items had been discussed previously during work sessions; roll call votes on the motions were recorded as carried and, where noted in the minutes, all board members voted in favor. The contracts are now authorized for administrative execution and implementation.
