Council schedules Jan. 13 public hearings for two small annexations and first readings

Madison City Council on Dec. 9 set public hearings for Jan. 13 on two proposed annexations and the corresponding R-1A zoning for each property.
Planning staff told the council the first lot is 0.73 acres and the second is 0.79 acres; both are single-family residential parcels. The annexation ordinances will be introduced as first readings and the planning department requested the second readings be scheduled for the same night as the public hearings.
Council members moved and seconded the motion to set the hearings and the motions passed by voice vote with recorded “aye” responses from Council member Shaw, Council member Robleski, Council president Seaford, Council member Bartlett and Council member Denzine.
No votes on annexation ordinances were taken at first reading; staff noted annexation and zoning actions will follow public hearings on Jan. 13.
