Mr. Wright noted the delay would provide “a little bit more time to do some additional outreach in partnership with parks to make sure that we… fill a full slate of folks.”
Council staff said the deadline for submitting committee names would fall in the week before the July 14 meeting; they also noted the council could suspend rules and add names on the day of the vote if needed. One council member said they had not had success recruiting con-committee members and planned targeted outreach.
Action: motion to defer Resolution 20250447 to July 14 passed unanimously. Staff described the deferral as intended to ensure a robust, balanced slate of pro and con committee members before final consideration.
