The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on June 2 approved a supplemental appropriation to cover staffing-related costs for the county's Family Drug Court program.
"This request is due to staffing changes. We need supplemental appropriations to cover differences in salary benefits and also health insurance coverage," said Katie Sendman, court administrator with the Delaware County Juvenile Court, describing the reason for the request.
Sendman told commissioners that the Family Drug Court project is in its final year and the court intends to spend the remaining project funds by the end of the next state fiscal year, 2026. "This project is in its final year, so we endeavor to spend out the project by the end of the next state fiscal year 2026," she said.
The board approved Resolution No. 25-421 to authorize the supplemental appropriations. Commissioners Barb Lewis and Jeff Benton voted aye; Commissioner Gary Merrill was absent.
No funding totals were specified during the meeting. The appropriation covers personnel costs tied to staffing changes and is intended to allow the Family Drug Court to complete its current project-year activities.
