Corinth council appoints representative to Denco 911 board and reappoints public‑works director to regional water board

The council appointed John Smith Jr. to the Denco Area 911 Board of Managers for a two-year term beginning Oct. 1, 2025, and reappointed Glenn Barker, the city’s director of public works, to the Upper Trinity (Opportunity) water district board for a four-year term.
City staff presented both items and noted nominees in the packet. For the Denco 911 appointment, staff said two nominees were on the ballot: John Smith Jr. and Steve Southwell. A councilmember moved to appoint John Smith Jr.; another councilmember seconded. The council voted and the chair announced the appointment as unanimous.
On the water-district item, city staff recommended reappointing Glenn Barker to continue representing Corinth on the regional water board. A councilmember moved to approve the reappointment; another councilmember seconded, and the council voted unanimously.
Both actions were formal, recorded agenda items. The Denco Area 911 appointment takes effect Oct. 1, 2025, per the motion. No additional policy changes or funding actions were recorded as part of these votes.
