Planning commission appoints Albert Liu as youth representative for FY2026

Staff noted that Anna Presley had served the prior fiscal year and was commended for near‑perfect attendance; Presley will attend Western Carolina University in the fall. Two candidates applied for the youth representative position: one junior and one senior at Farragut High School. Staff observed that the senior candidate had listed the Board of Mayor and Aldermen review board (VRB) as a second choice, which could affect representation to that other board if the senior were selected for the commission role.
Commission discussion touched on whether the VRB should be offered the senior candidate if the senior was not selected for the planning commission. Commissioners then moved to appoint Albert Liu as the planning commission youth representative, the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
