Later in the session, council held executive sessions that included discussion of the sale or purchase of property and pending litigation. After returning from executive session, the council directed the law director to draft the necessary legislation for the city to acquire the Heller Eller property. A motion to direct the law director carried on a unanimous roll call from those present. The council recorded that no action was taken in executive session itself, but that the drafting direction was authorized afterward.
Staff did not provide a timetable or funding source for the Heller Eller acquisition during the meeting. Council members requested that the law director prepare the legislation and bring the matter back for public readings.
