The Christian County Commission appointed Kelly Roberts to the Eastern vacancy on the Christian County Library Board following interviews of four applicants.

Commissioners conducted interviews and voted; Kelly Roberts received two votes while another candidate received one. Commissioners said they would send a formal appointment letter and a thank-you to other applicants.

The commission also read guidance from the county attorney explaining that, under Chapter 182 of the Missouri Revised Statutes, once a library district is created the county commission’s authority is limited to appointment and filling vacancies and does not include express authority to remove or discipline library board members.

Commissioners encouraged public engagement and reiterated that Sunshine Law procedures and the county clerk’s records are the official source for application and filing dates.
