Cadets ask board to restore faded Magnuson House QR signage; staff to follow up with Public Works

Board members added a new-business item after cadets reported a faded interpretive sign at the Magnuson House and asked for replacement of the QR code. The cadets said the code is illegible and that a more durable sign mount or cover would help preserve the code.

A board member put the item on the agenda and the board agreed to treat it as new business. Jay (staff member) said he would contact the public works director, who maintains downtown signage, and report back: “They’re the one that maintains it,” Jay said, noting staff would follow up with the public works director and update the board at the next meeting.

Board members discussed whether cadets could participate directly in sign work as part of a project or badge requirement; staff said public-works procedures for third-party participation would need to be followed. A deadline for the Girl Scouts’ project was asked during public comment but a specific completion date was “not specified” in the meeting.
